The Wineshow 2008 | 23rd to 26th October

2008 has already proven to be a busy year for Castas yet when we were invited to host a stand at this year’s wine show, it was an invitation we couldn’t resist. ViniPortugal are currently investing heavily into the UK market promoting the diversity and flavours of Portuguese wines, and such investment was for all to see at this particular event. ViniPortugal was hosting one of the biggest stands at this year’s show, allowing for 10 UK retailers/importers of Portuguese wines to showcase their finest to the public and trade alike, an opportunity only a fool would miss out on. What better way to promote and educate wine enthusiasts about the new wave of Portuguese wines.

The show was to be the first of this magnitude for Castas, a potential 15,000 people walking through the door, all looking for something new and different; something that Portugal has in abundance. Starting on Thursday and ending Sunday, the four day event was buzzing from start to finish, with nobody wanting to miss out and all looking for the next big wine or a great value bargain. ViniPortugal managed to position the stand at the heart of the show, allowing all 10 of its exhibitors to work their magic and entice the public to try some wines from regions and grape varieties they’ve never heard of. The work was intense and tiring but the enthusiasm from the crowds and their wanting to learn and discover more drove us all on till close each day.
