This grape inhabits a small south-eastern corner of the Vinho Verde region, close to and just north of the Douro river- warmer and drier than the rest of the Minho. It’s unusual in Vinho Verde in that it makes a relatively soft, creamy wine, but gives good yields and retains acidity in high temperatures. Its flavour is delicately peachy.
