One of the most emblematic quintas of the Douro has been in the hands of the Cálem family (now in its 5th and 6th generation) for over 150 years. Situated at the mouth of the River Pinhão in the heart of the Douro and Cima Corgo region, it served as the headquarters of the Port Wine company A.A. Cálem & Filho until 1997. Many traditions have been kept but today, all focus is on PV Vinhos, started only 4 years ago. PV has benefited from the knowledge, experience and determination of its three founders, José Maria Cálem, Jorge Serôdio Borges and Cristiano Van Zeller. Between them they bring together twenty generations linked to the Douro region and Port Wine. Its main wine, VT, affirms itself as the heir to the diversity of the Douro, and the historic legacy of Port Wine in general and that of Vintage in particular.
PV, today with more than 15 partners, owns a cellar in Vilarinho de Cotas, although a new dimension was created with the announcement of the fusion with Quinta da Foz, complete with its new spacious cellar and warehouses, with a capacity for more than 100,000 litres.
