Quinta da Bica
Quinta da Bica can be reached on an exit road out of Seia. Driving through the impressive portal and surrounding walls you reach the courtyard of a 17th century stately home, formerly a convent which stood from 1550. Within the grounds the grand statue of the fountain strikes you and this is where the name originates from. Today, after João Sacadura Botte inherited Quinta da Bica, it became an enterprise known as “Quinta da Bica Sociedade Agrícola, Lda”, totally devoted to wine production and bottling, where production started in 1989 from only 15 hectares of vine.
“Quinta da Bica”, is today, a well known wine brand, in Portugal as in other countries, by its quality. Despite its small production, this name is now crossing oceans and they continue to strive for the development of new markets who truly appreciate good wine.
