Quinta da Casa Amarela
Situated on the left bank of the Douro River, halfway between the cities of Régua and Lamego, Quinta Casa Amarela has been owned by the same family since 1885. Traditional attitudes and values are very much at the heart of this small producer with all their wine production. Typically known for its Port wine, Quinta Casa Amarela started Doc Douro wines during the vintage 2000. Using the traditional wine making process of treading, the wines represent all that the Douro stands for as a region of beauty and quality.
Today, Quinta Casa Amarela is also involved in wine tourism and activities include winery visits, short tasting courses and a wine school. Receiving around 2000 visitors a year, the estate was presented with the national ‘Wine Tourism of the Year’ Excellence Award in 2006.
